I’ve followed Alyssa and Vega on Instagram for quite a while and had been wanting to photograph them for some time. They’re based in Portland and happened to be in Seattle recently, so we were able to squeeze in a quick shoot one evening.
We met at Pike Place Market, which was Alyssa’s suggestion—and honestly, it ended up being the perfect fit. It’s typically a spot I avoid for sessions since it can get pretty crowded and tourist-heavy, but going later in the evening after things had quieted down made all the difference.
Their vibe worked so naturally with the space. We kept things simple—walking, stopping where the light felt right, and letting everything unfold organically.
I shot a mix of film on my Pentax 645N and Canon EOS 3, which felt like the right approach for this kind of session. It was such a fun time getting to hang out with Alyssa and Vega, and I’m already looking forward to the next time we get to shoot together.
