Arizona Desert Bridal Session

I started working with Casey a couple years ago and have always had a blast doing so. She’s super easy to collaborate with and always brings rad ideas to the table. When her and Alex got engaged, I was super stoked and honored when she asked me to photograph the wedding. We decided to do a separate bridal session leading up to the wedding where we could travel out to somewhere scenic to shoot.

We went back and forth talking about locations and decided on the Arizona desert. It's a favorite of both of ours and since they would be getting married in Chicago, it offered a very different backdrop for their photos. Being that she is also a blogger, we collaborated with Lovely Bride and JLM Boutique who provided many dresses for us to shoot with. It was a blast and we can’t thank them enough.

I flew into Phoenix and met Casey + Alex at the airport. They picked me up and we immediately drove down to Tucson. Our first shoot was that evening at a historic chapel that feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere. The next morning, we drove out to Saguaro National Park for sunrise. I’m a big cacti fan so that place was incredible to see. I had never seen that many giant cacti in one concentrated area like that before. Definitely worth checking out if you ever find yourself in southeast Arizona. After wrapping up that shoot, we drove north to Sedona and shot around the area that evening. The folks at L’Auberge de Sedona were super kind to put us up while we were in town. By far the most beautiful and peaceful place to stay in Sedona. After shooting we ate some super bomb Mexican food and then passed out. The next morning we woke up super early to get out and hike to Devil’s Bridge. We made it out there just after the sun started peaking over the mountains and had the whole place to ourself. We shot a couple looks there before hiking back to the car and driving back over to the Phoenix airport. It was a quick two and a half day trip but so much fun. I can’t thank Casey + Alex enough for letting me document these photos for them. Look out for more photos from the wedding soon!
