Tessa & James’ Chateau de Lis Wedding
Another all-film post for the blog! Tessa + James had their wedding at the beautiful Chateau de Lis in Oregon City, OR. All week, the only day that showed rain amongst a sea of sunny days was Saturday, their wedding day. I was quite nervous and bummed that it was looking to be a full day of showers. However the couple days leading up to Saturday, the rain started to push further and further into the day. On the day of the wedding, cloudy skies sat atop which really allowed the colors of the garden to shine through with no heavy shadows.
I brought my bud, Justin Jay, up from California to help photograph this wedding with me. We shot all of this film on our Pentax 645n & 645nII. Overall, I think we shot 14 rolls and I was thoroughly impressed with how many bangers turned out.
The ceremony took place in the gardens with rows of warm wood chairs and white florals lining the aisle. The sun even decided to make an appearance right as everything got underway.
After the ceremony, everyone moved into Chateau de Lis’ new glass arboretum. It might be one of my favorite parts of the venue. The greenhouse-style arboretum is surrounded by huge windows and a glass ceiling, with dark framing, chandeliers, and greenery running overhead. Trellis Florals carried the green-and-white palette from the ceremony inside, with white florals, green hydrangeas, and olive-toned linens throughout the tables.
The rain stayed away, the dance floor stayed packed, and I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding to be a part of.
